Why are most geeks conservative?

Well, that's an observation I've been led to over the years..

It's irrelevant. Every asshole(geek or not) would love be authoritarian dictator. Such assholes however will not support authoritarism, unless they have secured position in leadership. Those who support authoritarism are either security fetishists, fascist, authoritarian socialists, moralists, nazis(though many geeks have nazi fetish, but that's different) and such. All those are very anti-geek ideologies.

Well look at the timeline.

Geek becomes despot and forces everyone to watch animu.
3 weeks later geek is assassinated and a complete psycho takes control
After several months of purging the military the psycho turns his attentions to perceived threats in the civilian population whipping up paranoia and later sending "suspects" to the work camps far away from the cities.
