Mental health

Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and psychosis are an illusion. Most "mentally ill" people don't really even have mental illnesses. They're simply "pretending" they can see hallucinations, either for attention or because they're getting free money from the government by saying it.

Well, everyone thinks in their own way. There are people with same interests and thoughts, but in the end everyone is unique. Never trust psychology. It's about as reliable as it's main opposer(scientology crap). Mental illness is stupid concept. Pure crap. How many cured nuts you have heard about? It's not illness it's change in one's mind. No drug or traditional treatment can correct it. Ofcourse people who act out their criminal tendencies should be locked away, but isn't that why we have law and jails? I'm not opposed to practice of psychology in any way. One can easily find comfort and even "cure" from psychologist. What I'm opposed is that it's regarded as reliable science by some, but in the end it's not reliable at all. Unique behavior patterns that people have make it impossible to conduct any statistical analysis how human brain works or how it should work.

Right. Those chemical imbalances that make me hear voices telling me to kill my family and cover myself in feces are all just me pretending that I'm insane. I'm actually pretty OK once you get to know me!

My aunt is fucking insane. She has schizophrenia, and even being heavily medicated doesn't solve any problems. She still hear voices, and is a nervous fucking wreck. The rest of my family has problems too, except for a few.

Now ADD/ADHD, that's a myth.

ADD/ADHD is not myth it's proven neurological "disease" much more true to than schizophrenia cause there's actual physical evidence. However it's often falsely diagnosed and it's not big deal, unless the parents are fucking idiots at raising the kid with it. Also people in this thread aren't trying to prove that you can't have problems with your mind, but that psychology is mostly crap and that's essentially what's happening with your aunt too. Her "treatment" doesn't even help him.

ADD/AHAD is overdiagnosed to the point where I doubt it exists. Or if it even exists I see it as being MUCH rarer than how schools claim it is.

ADD/ADHD is falsely diagnosed mainly cause similar problems can be caused by idiotic uncaring parents. Also problematic effects real ADD/ADHD can be eliminated by properly raising children with it. That's why you never hear ADD/ADHD being problem with adults. Most kids with it have learned themselves to cope with it by time of adulthood, but that can be taught by their parents already in childhood without use of any medication.

yeah, there is also this thing that kids are... well... kids. they don't necessarily have ADD because they can't sit on a chair for 6 hours a day, or because they get distracted in the classroom.

ADD/ADHD isn't diagnosed enough. Anyway I got diagnosed with schizophrenia for some reason when I was younger, just recently I decided to learn what the fuck that word means and I don't have and never had a SINGLE symptom.

4chan is full of people who have the opposite of ADHD, whatever that is.
