Excessive regulation of this industry costs the average family 1500$/year.  Since the government doesn't take the money out of your pocket outright, most people don't notice the negative economic effects of overregulation.  We can lower health care costs by lowering regulation, and the costs that it brings.

Yes, exactly.  Government is overregulating our lives.  Things that were once personal decisions or else simply between a private individual and his doctor are now between the government, possibly some bureaucrats, who the hell knows how many regulations and rules, and the person's doctor.  In the case of medicine, as the article >>1 shared display, many of these government regulations increase the cost of medical care unnecessarilly.

I think we should go back to a more voluntary, more free society, in which we put these decisions back in the hands of the people.
