"THE WAR ON DRUGS" sounds so much more glorious than "PROHIBITION II", even though the latter is a much more accurate way of phrasing it.

It's all how Ingsoc is going to convince the world that War is Peace, with things like the WAR ON POVERTY and the WAR ON DRUGS and such.
