It "may" be socially tolerable if the couple didn't know they were related until later, though it's also probable society would demand they seperate--even if they have children. It also "may" be socially acceptable if the relation is by law and not by blood, such as adoption or step-sibling.
What do I think? If you both wanna do it, who cares what others think. Fuck to your hearts' content. Just keep in mind what your family may say if they find out and how it'll effect your family (and possibly even your job/friends if it got out), as well as what may happen if one becomes pregnant (if that's even a worry).

i think the biological mechanism is there to prevent incest on a larger scale in general. if incest wasn't biologically blocked, incest would be much more prevelent and the genepool wouldn't have enough variety to keep the offspring normal. now, just because we have a natural disposition against incest, doesn't mean a single case in a family every few decades is going to harm anything, or even a case where the two people arent even directly related. the fear is that incest will reoccure many times in sequence down the blood line.
so brother sister relationships are far more dangerous than cousin to cousin because the siblings share too much of the same genetic code, but cousins wouldn't have hardley any similarities. also, if it's a one time thing, which it usually is unless there's no one else to choose from, it shouldn't be a big problem with genetic mutation, though the risk is always there.
i think, if you wanna fuck your sister or brother, go ahead and have kids if you like. unless there's a recent history of incest in your family, then you're just gonna have to adopt or get donated sperm.
