"a "major" problem. rape isn't a "major" problem where I am because I'm in an affluent area. . . so of course that means all rape laws should be purged from the books."
To quote from the article:
"Conversely, people who are not engaged in the business of selling firearms, but who sell firearms from time to time (such as a man who sells a hunting rifle to his brother-in-law), are not required to obtain the federal license required of gun dealers or to call the FBI before completing the sale.
Similarly, if a gun collector dies and his widow wants to sell the guns, she does not need a federal firearms license because she is just selling off inherited property and is not "engaged in the business." And if the widow doesn't want to sell her deceased husband's guns by taking out a classified ad in the newspaper, it is lawful for her to rent a table at a gun show and sell the entire collection."
So to translate, there is no such thing as a 'gun show loophole'. A 'loophole' is way of escaping a difficulty, especially an omission or ambiguity in the wording of a contract or law that provides a means of evading compliance. But the law was written this way intentionally. The people are not finding 'loopholes' in the wording that they can work around to avoid complying - they ARE complying with the law as it was intended to be complied with. 'Gun show loophole' is just a stupid term invented by Handgun Control Inc. to get stupid anti-gun pieces of shit like you all riled up over nothing.
