Seriously, though, Kim Jong Il is far more of a threat than Saddam ever was, and North Korea would have been a shit-ton easier to occupy than Iraq. We should have waited and hit him instead.

I had a strange dream about nukes. Apparently the country was nuked, but people were urged to go about their daily lives, so I did, but later in the day society broke down and everyone went into hiding. I went to the bus station and it was shut, the man there said the drivers left and that more nukes had been detonated. So I walked 15 miles home, it snapped back to me being home with my g/f and suddenly a nuke detonated in the distance I saw a small flash, it wasn't big so it must have been a tactical nuke. Anyway we went inside and hid inside the closet and my g/f said, dont breathe in the smoke or you will get cancer in several years. As the blast wave engulfed the house in smoke I couldn't help but breathe, except i was drawing in clean air... Then I woke up with a sense of "thank fuck im not being nuked".

Oh and I was considerring the possibility of a nuke detonating just a few 100 metres from me and how i would not have time to eve think I am dying, also the fact that nukes were falling at random seemed to play a part.

It was strange, surreal, like a memory and the fear was almost enjoyable.

Having a nuke detonate close to you would probably be a very peacefull way to die. You get vaporized instantly, what could be quicker than that?

You will die in the middle of thinking about something which has little to do with your death. If you are struck down whilst fighting and striving or you feel your consciousness fade and are at peace as you slip away it is a romantic ceremonious way to die. If you die instantly in the middle of thinking about something trivial it's almost humiliating.
I don't nessacarily agree with that. To some, fighting, striving, feeling your consciousness fade are just as trival. Death is just death, you don't need to be "ready for it" and idea of it being a "ceremony" is laughable.
