the practice of torture is wrong and ineffective, no matter the purpose for the torture. torture is not, and has never been an effective form of information gathering. i could make an athiest love god if it meant i would stop torturing him. if you wanna live in a world where eye for an eye is practiced, go to the middle east or something. but we live in america, and we should have a higher standard of morality than those we call our enemies. to torture is to degrade everything this country has worked for to make this country that way.
