exactly. just as the porn industry regulates its preformers for STD's and health and safety, so should it be for legalized prostitution.
i dont see a single reason why we shouldn't do this.
it would:
- lower crime
- lower the amount of abuse toward prostitutes
- lower the number of rapes toward both prostitues and women in general.
- lower the spread of diseases
- lower the ability for minors to get a prostitute (it would be required by law for them to refuse such service, or risk being kicked out)
- lower the overall exposure of prostitues and their profession to minors (keeping red light distrects away from public places and schools, etc...).
plus, i'm sure the government would love to have a finger in that honey pot. consider the economic incentive for taxing the worlds oldest profession.
and it can be run differnt ways, either state run, private escort services with state/governement regulation, or both.
And on a side note, considering the number of soldiars coming back from war, it'd be nice to have a bit of a moral booster when they get home. america will have never looked so good ;)
