If the world became smart overnight

90% of it's population would realize how useless they are, and how, their not being there, would benefit the condition of the world, and kill themselves.

To begin with yes, but as we improve genetic science we can prevent our children from having allergies, lower the risk of a heart attack etc etc.. and eventually go on to increasing their IQ.
