I remember after 9/11, I was at school that day, and there were poorly copied pamphlets being distributed to tell us not to go killing any Arab-looking people we see. People here are scared of minorities because they've never met or seen them. All but maybe 300 people in my 54,000-person county is white, and about 90% of them are Protestant, which, really, is scary enough in and of itself.
