Arm the teachers and school faculty. Have them take firearms safety courses.
Problem solved.

I've some hellishly bad teachers with short tempers and pea-size brains (and other organs). The last thing I want is an armed english teacher who's disgruntled because he's being forced into retirement.

Just because they are angry doesn't mean they are going to go on shooting rampages.

In your dreams maybe. Seriously shooting someone is not light and sudden act. It's the act of killing often planned for weeks to years and I'm pretty sure they would be able to smuggle in gun should they want to do it.

Seriously shooting might not be an impulsive act, impulsive shooting is though, and with a gun handy at all times you'll probably pull it out after that one kid has tormented your disorderly mind for three years.

I would agree that there are alot of premeditated murders but alot of incidents, admittedly usually stabbings, are heat of the moment lapse of judgement in an already stupid person deal. I still don't want some underpayed, overworked, stressed-out teacher with a handgun strapped to his hip dealing with kids.

One could say that kid had it coming though. Seriously bullying and harassing people is not cool. Remember that bullying was reason behind Columbine too.

My informed sources tell me the devil worshipping video game Doom and dark trenchcoats was behind Columbine. I would advise you against questioning my informed sources.
