Iran isn't really happening, is it?

The world isn't really "pressing" down on an oil rich country developing alternative fuel methods, they aren't claiming they want nuclear weapons when the world has them themselves, they aren't harrassing a country in the same exact way they did with Iraq, right? Is this a political comic strip, or reality? It's too astonishing how humorous and unreal this is for it to be reality.
