Actually their culture has a strong emphasis on personal hygiene, they just believe that perfume is "cheating" and prevents you from knowing whether you are truly clean and odourless or not. Arab sailors in the mediteranean sufferred less from disease than europeans as they would take baths in the salt water once a day. Muslims are supposed to wash their hands and feet before enterring a mosque. The Egyptians invented mint toothpaste and the idea for baths came from somewhere in the east.

It's because in 120 degree weather you sweat all the fucking time and even a shower once a day won't cure the stench of sweat caking under your clothes and in your hair, filling your pores and soaking the sand that is already on your skin, as you either sit in one spot for hours or walk to your next destination, creating more sweat and filth until you stop and fill a bucket full of water to swirl your clothing around in, knowing that it will still smell like shit, just like the smell in your hair and on your skin, because you're living in a Godless hell hole. That, and wiping with only your left hand. Sick fuckers.

My theory is that arabs and such don't have as ready access to water as we in teh west do. Even though things like Islam pretty much mandate washing up before e.g. the daily prayers. The contrast to some places in europe, where they wash the streets with drinking water, is imaginably quite stark.
Then there's the bit about blacks saying that white people smell like something that's been dead for a few days, even straight out of the shower. I'd say it's a matter of what you're used to.
Also, french people smell because they have a... "different" idea of personal hygiene than the rest of Yurp.

There is no such thing as a bad religion. It's people who interpret the religion. After 911, Muslims have got a real bad wrap. The U.S. seems to be a discrimination stomping ground for all folks. The Irish had it worse than the African Americans. The Chinese in California; the Japenese during World War II. I have traveled the world and I use to have certain prejudices myself. I had the opportunity to visit India and I had a bad visual from what I have seen on American T.V. (I was wrong) I saw Muslims, Hindus & Christains getting along. There was a time when Muslims were not viewed as fanatical and have contributed with some of the worlds most amazing architecture in India. The travel channel might brush up on some of it but not enough. As far as a smell? They do bath but instead of using deoderant, it is more like an equivilant of baby powder (not as strong as what we have) But if you take the Euro-rail from France to Italy in the summer time (same thing)
Oh no! Are we talking about people from India? or from the Middle East? Northern Asia? Because India is not part of the Middle East.
