Maybe my idea of legitimate criticism is flawed, but wouldn't it be patronising to flatter someone all the time and dismiss all the mistakes they make? It would be like me treating them like a spoiled child. I prefer to treat people like fellow human beings and not be afraid to give them legitimate criticism when it is necessary.

This is a rediculous assumption in the first place especially coming from the perspective of white historians. Have you ever seen someone who is half-black and half-arab? Did the "one-drop" rule only apply in circumstances where blacks couldn't be linked to any great empires? In light of history one begins to question if the geneology really has anything to do with anything and more should be emphasized on the native cultures. I have seen no proof that Egyptian culture even in it's most bastardized and watered down form has had no influence from "black Africa". I don't even like the term "black Africa" in the first place, because Africa was only "completely black" after the flood.
