OK OK OK...  Try using these words in this debate.  Left-wing and right wing definitions are getting a little...  crazy.

REPUBLICAN WORLDVIEW (not the american party):  Individual freedom and property is of utmost importance.  Nobody has the right to do anything with another's property, not even the government.  The government's role is to step in when someone's rights have been violated, and try to set things to right with whatever power is at it's disposal.  This worldview tends to allow large corporations to exist, though it also ensures the rights of those of lesser power and influence to hold on to what belongs to them.

DEMOCRATIC WORLDVIEW (Not the american party): The will of the majority is of utmost importance.  Every person has a right to vote on propositions, and the role of the government is to uphold the will of the majority, with whatever power is at it's disposal.  This worldview tends to promote tax and spend programs, as well as welfare and socialized medicine by taxing those who have a lot of money to give to the majority who have less money.  Large groups of like-minded people, aka "communities" tend to hold greater sway, EG. The black community, the homeless.

TOTALITARIAN WORLDVIEW: Power is put into someone's hands, and no other principal is used to decide what should be done other than the will of a dictator or other governing body, be it benevolent or not.
