You're not directly affecting politics by analyzing and discussing politics, especially the more mundane daily points. Major world issues MIGHT inspire someone to sign a petition or go down the street carrying a sign, but really, it's not going to impact much. Basically, it goes like this:
1. Hey, it looks like 100,000 were killed in an avalanche yesterday, and the president wants to bomb Uzbekistan for no apparent reason.
2. You're right, that is a tragedy. I'm going to go on the radio and discuss this with Rush Limbaugh, then tell others how horrible it is. After that I'm going to sit at home, drink beer, and watch Everybody Loves Raymond.
3. ARRRR! I'm a Republican! Must overtake senate!
4. Sigh, being a Democrat, I am forced to sit at this cafe and order cappucinno after cappuccinno. If only the Republicans were dead right now...
