In 2050 Hispanics will be the majority in US?

I've read a couple of predictions in yahoo news stories that they expect hispanics to be the marjority in the US in aproximately 2050.

Could this be true?

How would it affect the US culture?

Is the upper class (Bush, etc) doing a cut and burn (spending everything and taking everything that isn't nailed down) in preparation for this?

Catholicism, low education, etc. Except in Chile and Argentina cuz they are more progressive than any other Latin American countries. Some people say that Venezuela is more progressive, but they are very socially backward.
