Are you afraid of the point, since you use so much energy steering clear of it?
Failing to support one extreme, does *_NOT_* automatically mean enthusiastically and fanatically supporting the other extreme! This goes especially for when people try to be (Gasp!Shock!Horror!) actually
neutral.
This whole "you're either with us or with the eeeeeevil
666 enemy" drill, is essential in getting fascism to work.
Also, contrary to popular belief, there is nothing in fascism that fundamentally precludes any one specific people (like the Jews) from adopting the ideology. That specific trait goes to Nazism proper, in that it delegates the SubHuman role to the Jews as well as other groups. (E.g., the Gypsies suffered every bit as badly under Nazism, but the Jews have better lawyers and lobbyists).
So, let's try again:
The woman is giving an insight into what exactly got Hamas the popularity, without getting hysterical about how eeeeeevil they are or somesuch. That's a far cry from actually defending whatever they've been accused of elsewhere.
Besides, my "spoken like a fascist" comment was about the "elected by terrorists" crap. Say what you will about the Hamas, but they were democratically elected by the Palestinian people. If that's "by terrorists", then that means the whole people are composed exclusively of terrorists and nothing else, meaning, in turn, that there is somehow magically no possibility anywhere for anyone to be Palestinian without being a terrorist. Are you saying that sentiment is somehow not fascist?
Good attempt at trying to sound un-fascist.
