How could Greece fuck up this bad?

We all know Greece is seriously fucked now regardless of the fact that they managed to steal a bit more EU pesetas. How did they end up in this huge fucking mess? Yes I know 100.000+ jobs were given out to people in the public sector for their political affiliations as a 'thank you' while they increased the salaries within said sector by 60% essentially draining the countries reserves drier than they've ever been, but WHY? How could the government get away with this shit?

I say let the entire stupid fucking country default because I'm tired of being forced to pay for their stupidity.
