What kills me is that they're protesting some asshole that got shot for pointing a pistol at the police.

The riots got out of control because the Brits pretty much let the rioters do as they please. Unless the Brits crack some skulls and raid houses to take back looted shit the rioters will not learn that such savage behavior isn't tolerable in a civilized society.
