When it comes to nuclear warfare, I believe the larger the land of the country, the larger its chances of survival.
Notwithstanding Russia and China becoming involved, if North Korea fired nukes at the USA and USA retaliated, both firing a stead stream, North Korea is completely devastated before a majority of the USA is hit.
Honestly though, I don't think North Korea wants to fire anything for fear of China breathing down its neck.
