Nothing will change. The people will get tired of raging in the streets and shit will go back to normal. When even the head ayatollah says the elections were fine, nothing will happen. They'll get no real foreign support either.

This will never happen in China. At best, China would have to elect a reformist once Jintao steps down.
On Iran, I support any movement that gets the current leadership off it's throne. And it will happen eventually, since Persians seem to be really good at ousting despots. They're still going to be severely Anti-American though, and there probably is no stopping them from getting a nuke, but I'd rather not see a paranoid showboat with a lot of political swagger like Ahmadinejad lead a country like that.
