Underage Drinking

I have recently found out that one of my online buddies, named Jed, has been drinking alcohol. Jed is under the age of legal drinking in the State of Iowa. His mother has been supplying him with alcohol for the past three years. Something needs to be done to stop this tradgedy.

I really don't see the point in having alcohol legal anyways... If alcohol is legal and tobacco.. then why is marijuana illegal?

I Don't understand at all.. alcohol kills millions of innocent people. Marijuana makes people happy. Alcohol does that too, but it messes up your liver as well.

Uh.. where we live its not that you can't have underage drinking. Its quite fine to allow a 12 year old half a glass of wine with dinner if everyone else is drinking too.. the laws are no-one underage is allowed to BUY alcohol...

I think letting kids have a limited introduction to alcohol removes all the 'mystery' and diffuses the issue where they think they have to sneak it to have it. If its always been there.. alcohol turns out to just be a adult thing like driving. Kids can't wait to drive, but it turns into that last episode of the Simpons... after Bart gets his license, he's driving everywhere running errands for everyone else and driving becomes a hassle.

unfortunately without responsible parenting children often assume dangerous or destructive behavior, the best way to help is to provide kindness and support for your friend.
