18 hit the nail on the head... The USA is almost entirely populated by the descendants of migrants from all over Europe and South and Central America. Consequently, the US culture is unique because it is made up of hundreds of other cultures. They do not produce any culture other than that of laziness and convenience, which leads to social decay as is happening in the US and UK just now, and is beginning to spread to other countries too.

As for science... Well sorry to waken you up #1 but the far east is miles ahead of the USA in terms of technological advances.
