It wouldn't be impossible to assimilate Mexican immigrants, but it wouldn't exactly be super easy either.  For some reason they have an attachment to their "culture" and are way too fucking stubborn to let go of it with any ease.  But through the sucession of 1 or 2 generations the Mexicans will probably become wholey Americanized.

Muslims are another story.  They're so goddamn fanatic about their religion they'll always have a stick up their asses.
