I once took a module in uni called "??? and Japan" with ?? being my country, which talks about the relationships between the two countries. The tutor is a Japanese and he said that many foreigners don't move to Japan for 2 reasons, language barrier and racial discrimination. I don't think Japanese are racist by their social setup. Japan is not multi-cultural (not like Canada or America, for instance). As a result you have people of a single race and a single culture, and it is only natural to have a tenancy to be prejudiced towards what is different and foreign to you.

On my 3rd trip to Japan, i stayed with some friends in Tokyo for about 6 months. These are the things i found:
Japanese love hip hop - but think blacks are the worst race after Chinese and Koreans.
Im from the US, but i found that Japanese although love the America culture, most (girls especially) love Australian culture due to the cute animals and the sterotype nature boys.
They make bad pizza.
When i went to Guangzhou, China for only a month. I found that:
Chinese are really much more intelligent then you think.
They are insane when money is involved.
They are super cute girls, but they are harder to find.
And although i have said this before - i need to clarify just HOW MUCH CHINESE LOVE MONEY.
