Not an AOTY thread, those are pointless wankery. Lets discuss what albums we enjoyed the most this year. No judgement, just discussion.

Alcest - Les Voyages De L'Âme
Good album. Certainly not groundbreaking, but better than Écailles De Lune. The songs are more memorable and there are fewer misses over all.

Death Grips - Money Store
I'm not even going to bother talking about why. Everyone has already made up their mind either way.

Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes
I've always wanted to like Flying Lotus. I've enjoyed his previous stuff, primarily Los Angeles, but I've never been able to get that into it. I feel like this album changes that. It's less experimental than Cosmogramma and it's definitely more mellow, which I like. I'd like to hear him do production for a rap or soul album.

Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation - Egor
I like this album more than Mount Fuji's previous stuff. I still think the best these guys have made was the live album they did as Kilimanjaro Darkjazz, but this is definitely really good.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Cobra Juicy
It's much more coherent than anything they've done and it's got a really poppy edge to it.
Perfume Genius - Put Your Back In 2 It
Beautifully written chamber pop. Cripplingly sad at times, and almost uplifting at others

I'll have to check out the new Black Moth. I've liked their previous stuff, but it's always felt a bit scattered.

Let's see... (not all of these are from 2012, just ones I've heard this year)

- Lord Huron - Lonesome Dreams
- Dog is Dead - All of Our Favorite Stories
- Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me
- Kate Havnevik - Melankton
- River City Extension - The Unmistakable Man
- NYM - Warm Blooded Lizard

Please don't kill me for the list seeming scattered.

Many people ask what type of music a creepy freak like me would enjoy, so I think now would be a good time to share some of my favorites (Just in time for Halloween.)
Lapis Niger(NOT the metal band)- At the Throne of Melek Taus
Beautiful songs for cabal rituals and eerie atmospheres.
Endvra-Black Eden
Most of the songs give a strong sense of horror and torture... perfect for Halloween.
Sophia-Sigilum Mitilum
Though it is mainly Martial Industrial, the songs do give out a sense of intimidation and hopelessness, which I adore.
Lamia Vox-...Introductio
This album I intend to play as I silently wait for the trick-or-treaters return home to rest in their beds. The tracks will make for one... unforgettable Halloween night.
