I am looking for some recommendations.
Before I say what I want, let me say what I'm not (you can skip this wall if you're in a hurry). I'm not a snob/elitist/whatever shit. I might say I like "classics" and all, but do not be offended if you listen to something from my "hate" list. I do not think your taste is "inferior"; it's just taste, and we can debate about it forever, but this is just my taste, and I'm simply asking for some recommendations. Please avoid irrelevant comments.
Second, let me say what I hate:
1) Hip Hop/Rap, R&B, Soul and whatever some people call "Black" music (no racism; I just dislike it).
2) Pop. I absolutely hate it.
3) Most mainstream garbage. Including mainstream rock and metal.
4) Overrated, overdone emo shit like Linkin Park and Evansecence (and their countless imitators).
5) Also, "emo" metal music like Death Metal.
6) "Heavy" and Thrash metal. No Metallica/Slayer.
Music that I like:
1) I love rock/metal (yeah, I treat them as one even though they're not exactly so), but only when it overlaps with one or more conditions explained below.
2) I like EPIC music. And by "epic", I don't mean in the colloquial sense like "lawl Homer Simpson was epic"; I mean LITERALLY EPIC. It has to be extremely thrilling.
3) I like modern Japanese music, but not the mainstream shit like J-Pop and most Visual Kei. I listen to Japanese doujin music; they're creating some of the best modern classics.
4) Among the doujin music I listen to are various electronic and even Jazz tracks, but they're not a priority.
5) Some of what I listen to is not "epic", but more like "beautiful" and "refreshing".
