Is Nightwish a Christian band?

My friend after hearing one of their songs refuses to listen to them anymore cause he says they're a Christian band..

What's so wrong about a Christian band? Don't really know if Nightwish is or not but should that really matter?

I don't think they're marketed as such but I believe that they could apply with the lack of brutal satanic lyrics. Also, slap your friend for assuming a popular gothic metal band is automatically Christian. It's people like that that ruined Evanescence's budding career.

I myself am an Atheist, but I really respect Christian music. I have no idea whether Nightwish is a christian band and could hardly care less considering they sound like shit now. Some of my favorite bands are Christian and I think that their devotion to their god makes their music that much more whole and legitimate. just my two cents.
