This could be interesting. Name some songs that you think sound similar to each other.
I'll go first:
"Black Mission Goggles" by Man Man is similar to "Come Together" by The Beatles.
"Changes" by David Bowie sounds similar to "Hashpipe" by Weezer.
Your turn, anon.

Every mainstream rock band since 2000 sounds like Nickelback (or, probably better wording: all mainstream rock since 2000 sounds the same, including Nickelback). They're the audio equivalent of chicken.
EG: 3 doors down, creed, theory of a dead man

If you compensate for the fact that one is a progressive rock band and one is a pop rock band 'Uriah Heep' songs and 'The Beach Boys' songs sound amazingly similiar. They use VERY similiar stylistic features.
Also. Every System of A Down song sounds almost exactly like every other System of A Down song.

Ascendancy by Trivium stole a riff from Selkies: The Endless Obsession by Between The Buried And Me.

Uh, completely unpopular, but Tetragrammaton by The Mars Volta sounds like Willing Wells I & II by Coheed & Cambria. Oh, and yeah all Nickelback sounds the same.
Okay, okay, now get this; "Stand" by REM? Yeah, the refrain -especially the words "think about direction/wonder why you haven't"- sounds similar to "She's A Rebel" by Green Day, especially in ther refrain -"she's the salt of the Earth/ and she's dangerous".
