Tegan and Sara

so regardless of how you feel about Tegan and Sara as performers of....well, they are kinda emo aren't they? despite that I like them and I want to go see them in concert...the last time I saw them was here in my hometown at a club called the Axis and I paid 10 dollars.....NOW, if I want to see them I have to drive to another town (70 miles round trip) and pay 65 dollars to get into the show....if I take someone I have to pay 130 dollars...if I get the T-Shirt Another 40 or 45 dollars plus anything I might happen to want to eat or drink....Now here's a philosophical question for you....If you were Tegan and Sara and you had any say about the price of your tickets, would you demand that at the most they only cost your loyal listeners $15 for General Admission? OR, would you completely sell out to the upper crust of your generation who have maybe as much as 200 dollars to shell out for tickets (because their Dad is a banker or perhaps a Computer Science Engineer) and squelch the chances of someone like me....who is broke.....and wanting to see them play, all for the sake of the almighty Dollar?

Yes, I would like to be in their postition. 25ish years old...a hit record in the charts.....about to make a whole lot of money.....I could barely play guitar in the 80's let alone remember them.....

they are mainstream pop stars now what do you expect. because indie is selling out on the money from emo kids who got to college and discovered slightly more diverse music tastes... all real indie went way underground to discern themselves, as soon as arcade fire happened

theyre good and you do have a point, but from the artists stand point its more exposure and if that makes more people like your music ...then you usualy feel like your doing it right.. i mean big artists still play small venues.. example- mute math and eisly played in charlottesville VA at a small venue no ones heard about from anywhere and tix's were 15...either way their petty kool from what ive heard
