The psuedo-medieval trend that's going through goth. Big in Germany, where all the goths are either crazy Thor-worshipping Satanists or medieval/Tolkien geeks. Shit like Faun, and some of Unto Ashes' more recent stuff.
Not emo because except for trouveres, your average medieval wasn't emo at all. They went out and kicked ass instead.

only Goth bands enter my mind right off the bat, but they are already old and to useless to mention. Some exceptions to this can be found on myspace like Adam Absinthe (Goth-God I wish I were Manson-metal) and Emilie Autumn who is from Europe and does an act not unlike Rasputina (see old stuff).
You see, this is all the fault of Grunge....Grunge gave birth to Emo like Modernism gave birth to Post-Modernism. What's worse is when a band comes along that is an all out rocker (like Jet, Killers, Fran Ferdinand) They get compared to Classic Rock faster than someone would say they sound like someone like Jesus and the Mary Chain....If this remains the trend, Iggy Pop's sound will become the savior of Rock And Roll. However, when the band comes to save us from Emo, they will merely be compared to the Black Crowes.....
