Learning to read notes for guiter

Name: GUITARFACE 2007-03-26 17:56 ID:tNuo68mP

I need help on deciphering which note it wants me to play in particular. For example, on the music sheet it says it wants me to play the E note, but how do I know which E note it wants me to play? Any way I can tell?

Guitar's partitons are written one octave lower from the real notes.

Yeah, but I mean, is there some sort of symbol or number on the lines that tells me to play this certain E opposed to this one?

Yes, it's called tablatures. By the way, you mean for example you don't know if you have to play an B with the E string at the seventh case or on the A string at the second case ? By ears. And/or what is the more "logical" to play (so related to the other chords/notes).
