The mastermind behind this "group", which actually is composed of only 2 singers (they use random professional musicians for the recording sessions, which include a lot of instruments and additional vocals), is a primary school teacher in Austria. All their albums are "conceptual".
Most important albums:
* 'Das Tagebuch der Hanna Anikin', about a pauper girl who leaves her home in Finland towards Russia. By far their most heavier album, with guitars taking over the piano.
* 'Das Schachspiel des Trommelbuben Zacharias', about a russian abandoned street boy, wandering the streets of moscow with his toy drums, and getting involved in all kinds of russian street culture, specially the chess.
* '39 Jahre Fur Den Leierkastenmann', about a jew (oh no) boy who leaves the jew quarter in Lemberg, in order to live as a vagabond and play his lyrebox. The jews would not allow he to play that "miserable instrument" at the quarter. They tried to force him to play the jew violin. But this album is *not* antisemite.
These albums form a Trilogy called "The Poor People", and all feature children whose destiny is misery. All of them feature quite dramatic stories, but with an allegoric and comical view.
* 'Ein Toter Fährt Gern Ringelspiel', I did not touch the lyrics of this one yet, but was marketed as a "Cemetery Play". I think it revolves around the conceps of the tötentanz (La Danse Macabre).
All the albums are worth to listen for the extremely creative music alone. This is the one of the VERY FEW avantgarde music acts available.
