I found Future Sound of London's tracks they did before Future Sound of London Existed... stuff they made under various pseudonyms like Mental Cube ("Q" is a fucking great track), Yage, Intelligent Communication (no relation to Global Communication, although I do love me some Global Communication too), and Stakker/Humanoid. Some of it is great, some of it is god-awful. The great stuff is... great, and I want more.
So yeah I notice there's two types of early 90's techno ... the cheesy gay-bar diva-nigger "pump it up jam jam pump up da volume" pop-techno, and then the still-cheesy, but more listenable, acid-house, semi-ambient techno music that evokes imagery of Babelistic architecture from the future on another planet. I think Orbital's green album (ugh) falls into the former, but their brown album ("ugh" at first but it grew on me and now it's a favorite) falls into the latter.
Recommend me some stuff you think I'd like pertaining to this topic.
