two dongles

i bought cubase sl and motu's symphonic instrument when i started doing more professional stuff. i thought it a good opportunity to go legal, as the producer agreed to pay for it all. anyway i only have two usb ports on my powerbook and the dongles take them both up. i don't have a problem with this as the only time i really need usb is if i'm at home using my keyboard and mouse, or doing some weird shit like transferring photos, in which case i probably won't have my processor-intensive music software open.

ALL THAT ASIDE

at guitar center when i was buying this shit, the representative said it was an advantage to have two dongles rather than one. now, as much as i am able to work around having all my usb ports taken up all the time, i really don't see it as an advantage. my question is, what the fuck was he talking about?
