Although, you may want to try their single releases first. Their albums can get quite...uhh..."trippy".

lol, bit wide really.

There's lots of good Japanese noise music, it seems to excel in this field. Masonna, Merzbow, Nic Endo, Hanatarashi...

Susumu Hirasawa has some interesting Electro. Dir En Grey has a few good tunes, X (Japan) has a 30 minute song that really isn't all that great but I keep hearing it all the time and so you should be subjected to it as well. It's called "Art of Life," or "is this damn thing over yet?"

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-06 13:37

Does DJ Krush count?

Acid Mothers Temple, Metronome, deathgaze, Boris, Lucifer Luscious Violenoue, and High and Mighty Color are some various rock style Japanese bands that I have enjoyed at one point or another.

MORNING MOOSUME.

MIKITTY IS HAWT.

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-31 5:33

Noise/experimental: Melt Banana, Merzbow, Keiji Haino, Boredoms
J-Rock: The Pillows, Bump of Chicken,
Video Games/Based on Video Games: The Black Mages, Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo
J-Pop: Gackt, L'arc en Ciel,  Glay, Do As Infinity, Otsuka Ai

I like Japanese music in that order but if you're just starting to listen to Japanese stuff, I'd recommend you start with J-Pop or Video Game stuff depending on how much you're into gaming. If you want some thing a bit heavier I'd recommend you move on to J-Rock first then the Noise stuff.

Enjoy.

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-01 15:18

Shimano Momoe, Swinging Popsicle, Something ELse, Bonnie Pink, Serani Poji, Aco, Akino Arai, and plenty others. It really depends on what type of Japanese music you're looking for. Pop, hiphop, R&B, ska, punk, or whatever.

REALLY Depends on your taste. For my alternative rock , I like Asian Kung-Fu Generation, The BackHorn, and ACIDMAN.

For some chill out R&B type stuff I like Chemistry,Soulhead,中島美嘉, and BoA...but she's korean right?

For punk-ish fun and loud stuff, I like hide(with or without SpreadBeaver backing up), Gazette, Miyavi...

I can reccomend bands and singers, but it depends on preference.

all new japanese music is fucking rubbish, CUNTS!

Name: nekoaitsu 2007-03-02 0:13 ID:9uDtn5E2

Gazette, Heidi (new band, 2 singles & album coming soon), Do As Infinity, Ayabie, Youjeen, Hyde, Hide, among many other good ones that have been reccommended.

Try to listen to some internet radio stations. www.shoutcast.com, find a j* station, perhaps you will hear something that you like.

I have a station up sometimes, and I try only to play what I find to be very good. Usually have jmusic playing 1/2 the time or more.

Search for my screenname on shoutcast, or, as for right now, http://shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=546871&file=filename.pls
