What's the deal with Mexican music?

Some friends dragged me to a show that was part of a "Latin Music Explosion" concert series.  It was one of those Tejano bands where all the songs sound alike, the lead singer keeps going "EYE-YIIIIIIIIII!" and the guy with the acordian gets to do a ten minute solo.  WTF!?  Do people actually enjoy this stuff?

What I don't like about mexicans is the fact that all their colors look the same

The same orange, the same red, the same dirty yellow, the same dirty teal, and they always put little triangle-shaped confetti on all their advertisements. I can always tell when something looks Mexican, and it exudes a shade of disgust in me for some reason.
