Why do groups of SFBEs stand in doorways

Its a certain type of SFBE, usually teens trying to be the in-crowd or dominant group.

Is this done intentionally or just discourteous oversight?

This usually impedes access to doors, and inconveniences others, to which they seem oblivious, and insulted when you have to go around or though.
