why do so many electronic artists

Why do so many electronic music artists, often amateur, call themselves "producers" despite never having helped anyone in any recording studio anywhere?  Well, it must be because they know in their hearts that they aren't good enough to deserve to be called artists, and that the machine is actually the artist.  They merely helped the machine with the creation.
