I'm a fucking retarded idoit

I'm all for people getting paid for work. But why should a painter/ photographer/ musician/actor get paid every time someone 'uses' their work, or even have control over its use.

If I build a building i have no control over people painting or photographing or making a movie of it, but they (want to) make money every time its shown.

good people work for the betterment of society rather than greed. good people do not copyright their works, they place them in the public domain because they realize this
