I've just read a Brazilian article about this war in 1982. It says this war was not so easy as most people think. Argentina began the war winning, until that whore Thatcher told France (all Argentine air missiles were made in France not the USA) to give them the remote password to turn the missiles off, so they wouldn't explode. She even threatened to drop an atomic bomb in Buenos Aires if France didn't cooperate.
So the missiles were turned off, Argentina lost the war, the big Thatcher whore got back her popularity in Britain and Maradona scored the hand of God goal.
For the ones who say most islanders prefer to be British, how about giving Northern Ireland to Ireland if most of them prefer to be Irish, or Wales to USA if most of them decide they'd rather be Americans? FFS, the Malvinas Islands are almost 15 thousand KM away from Britain.
Moreover,
This time things would be worse. More people would die, the war would be bigger, and you gotta take into account the fact that South America today are more united through Mercosul. In the early 80s, most South American countries were getting rid of decadent dictatorships, the continent was in ruins.
Argentina is a big commercial ally for Brazil and other S American countries. If a war in Malvinas fuck things up for Brazil, Brazil may even step into the shit. Things could get ugly for England.
