The system named Recaptcha gives you two letter blobs to type out. One is for gaining access to the function of whatever you are doing, and the other is to aid a project of helping transcript some text that optical character recognition software wasn't sure about (or two softwares disagreed). What I have noticed:
The word "and" makes OCR software shit a lot.
They are trying to digitize foreign words with non-roman characters and so that's going to be worthless. Greek comes up a lot.
The OCR software does not handle the historical typefaces that had lower case s look like f. Anyone not familiar with those will transcribe incorrectly, putting f where it should be s, since they look a hell of a lot like f.
