Earthbound - whats the appeal?

e I dont understand why people like this game and it has such a cult following.

Been playing it for a few hours, first time I quit because it didnt seem interesting.

Who else would keep mentioning the imageboards constantly without anyone talking about them but our friend milkribs4k? I mean he got bricksocked by a brave man when he went there so it's understandable he hates them.
