desire to stroke cats explained

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-13 3:54

Why are we so compelled to stroke a cat at the sight of the cat?  What draws us to the soft fine fur?  I contend that it is a remnant human instinct from the time when we had fur all over.  When we had fur all over, we would stroke each other, with the dual purpose of grooming and social cohesion.  Now that we lack fur, we are not so compelled to stroke each other.  But then these little furry beasts come upon us, awakening our desire to feel fur.  Such is the intensity of contentedness that can wash over us as we stroke the cat again and again.  The cat appreciates the strokes as our petting is akin to a mother cat's tongue.  Where will this relationship take us?  Will there be a future when man and cat will merge?  Will we pet each other again someday?

The communication is getting a bit fuzzy here, can you switch the logic mode?
I don't want to feel like I am talking to myself or my imagination.
Anyway.
