-no health care

Of course if you swing by a McDonald's or buy common processed shit at a supermarket it's bound to be unpleasant. If you go to http://www.localharvest.org/ and search for some local family owned farms, you'll find yourself some quite delicious food. It's pretty much like that anywhere in the world, you'll have to do some searching to find quality goods.

Not sure what you mean by this. Modern, hyper-capitalistic societies seem intent on very slowly destroying traditional culture from within, and that is by no means limited to just the borders within the United States. European countries bare  less brunt of such since they have countless centuries of history to fall back on (meaning more tradition, culture and history to consume and destroy).
no health care
No universal health care is a huge problem. What can you really expect, though, when the government is composed of a myopic, limited, two-party system where two right-wing parties with not too much a difference compete for power over trivial meaningless drivel?
every idiot has a gun
Heavily depends on which state you live in. There are Federal level regulations on firearms, of course. The Second Amendment helps greatly in keeping gun politics a hot issue.

Fat country. Though, the UK, Australia, Canada, and a few other English-speaking countries also have something of an obesity problem. So this seems to be something of a problem within the wider anglosphere, of which the US shows it the most.
