You couldn't drive cars for long either because you would need to know how to refine gas, pump oil, maintain a refinery plant, fabricate machine parts, maintain an electric plant.... gas stocks would slowly evaporate. You can make fuel for diesel powered vehicles at home with vegetable oil. Car parts would rust over time and you wouldn't be able to simply replace parts you would have to create them.
