Question! Do you know what
psychotropic means? In that context, it leads me to believe that you
do not. Not only is psychotropic out of place, marijuana is also a psychotropic drug which just makes your point nil.
I believe you meant synthetic drugs. Well sir, you made a laundry list of implications by saying such a statement. First of all you imply that EVERY pharmaceutical is synthetic. Well most painkillers are derived from opium - a naturally occurring drug. You also imply that natural drugs are safer then synthetic drugs. Let's examine atropine (a natural alkaloid from the nightshade family of plants) - an extremely poisonous toxin that is used both as a medicinal drug and a recreational hallucinogen. Nicotine is also a highly carcinogenic drug that is an alkaloid of tobacco. LSD is synthetic and has almost no risks involved other then maybe a bad trip, which is interesting to point out that marijuana can have equally bad side effects as LSD (primarily, head aches, discomfort, anxiety, etc).
I'm fucking sick of society trying to shove marijuana down our throats. Trust me, I love weed more than anybody, but even I am not stupid enough to just throw out decades of progress we have made in chemistry. Why does everybody have such an aversion to chemicals? It's not untrustworthy at all - we have thorough research for practically all known drugs. I personally find chemistry fascinating and although my knowledge of chemistry is nothing more than simple highschool education and some occasional recreational studying.
