my life is in shambles

Mother reminds me daily about it, too. Mom constantly nags and nags, I fear I'm going crazy.

Mother needs to be tended to; I put on her socks and slippers, I prepare her supper, I lift her off the chair and sofa every time she needs to get up, I accompany her to the supermarket, I am with mother every hour.

Mom doesn't want me to get a job, so all we do is sit back and collect government aid. Mother pays for our meals with food stamps, our gas and electricity is provided by LIHEAP, mother's doctor, hospital and prescription bills are courtesy Medicare, mine by medicaid, and so on.

It is disgusting to live like this but I don't know what to do. I think the most I was disgusted was when mother was approved for a "cosmetic surgery" by medicare, she didn't need it but got it all paid for. I felt bad for the hard working taxpayers.

Oh I was thinking about what Socrates might do.  He liked to ask questions to get at hearts of knowledge as a way of teaching.  We call this the Socratic method.
